Swell tracking by Sentinel-1 WV & IW mode

As part of the ongoing ESA SARWave project, Sentinel-1 TOPS mode data are processed into cross-spectra to estimate wave parameters that can then be integrated in the exiting Swell tracking system originaly based on wave mode only. Since North atlantic is mostly covered by Sentinel-1 while in TOPS mode and not wave mode, this is expected to bring a step change in the swell tracking to the European Shelves, North East Atlantic and Arctic coastlines

Dot color indicates the swell period from 10s (blue) to 20s (red) and diameter is proportional to the observed swell significant height.
