Leeuwin current revealed by Himawari

The warm Leeuwin current is often a good place to observe small scale eddies and recirculation as it flows southward and encounters colder waters. The cloud coverage is often low in the area and one can benefit from Infra Red observation of good quality. The animation shows Himawari observations over five days. Himawari data are now available on OVL portal in NRT such as GOES 16-18, SEVIRI, SEVIRI Indian to have a global coverage.
