GHRSST SST help assess ocean surface dynamics

Within the WOC project, a new method has been developed to automatically retrieve SST fronts and use them to assess the position of structures in different velocity products. Here SST fronts have been derived from SEVIRI L3 SST. Fronts have been flagged using their probability, dark blue represent the first 16% most probable one and light blue fronts corresponds to the next percentile (16 to 33%)
The method is illustrated in a poster (New ocean dynamics assessment strategy through SST frontal detection) and a video presentation made for the GHRSST24 meeting (https://www.ghrsst.org/ghrsst-news/24th-international-science-team-meeting-ahmedabad-india-ghrsst-xxiv-ghrsst24/). Materials are available on the Eumetsat moodle for enrolled users and will be published after the meeting.
